Advantages of modern farming

1. Make farming easier and faster.
2. Give the highest yield.
3. Ensure that a large area of land can be cultivated.
4. Reduce cost of food items in the market.
5. Saves time and energy.
6. Ensures meat availability in the market.
7. Offers job opportunities for applicants in the society.
8. Makes food hygienic for human consumption.
9. Farming is more pleasurable and rewarding because the income is more.

Problem/challenges of modern agriculture

1. Low pricing of agricultural produce.
2. Insufficient labour as people are no longer ready to work in the farm.
3. Lack of capital or insufficient capital to invest in equipment or machines. It requires large amount of money to purchase these machines.
4. Negative attitude to farming.
5. Inadequate farming inputs like fertilizers, pesticides, among others.

Solutions to modern agriculture challenges

1. People should be enlightened on the benefit of farming.
2. Farming cooperatives should be encouraged by providing loans.
3. Proper pricing of agricultural produce.
4. Incentives should be provided to farmers to encourage them.
5. Farming inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, among others, should be subsidized to farmers.
6. Government should provide scholarships to students in agriculture.
