Colours

Welcome to class.

Colours is the pigment that reflects on any object when light touches the object. It is also the characteristics of human visual perception described through colour categories.

Types of colours.

  1. Primary Colours: These are natural colours that can be gotten from a substance like earth, trees, leaves. Examples are Red, Blue and Yellow.
  2. Secondary Colours: These are colours gotten by the mixture of two primary colours in equal proportion.

Examples:    Red + Yellow = Orange

Red + Blue = Purple

Yellow + Blue = Green

  1. Tertiary colours: these are colours an artist gets when he mixed secondary colours in equal proportion.

Examples:    Orange + Green = Citron

Orange + Purple = Russet

Purple + Green = Olive

SOURCES OF COLOUR

  1. Red:- It can be gotten from wood of cam-wood.
  2. Yellow:- It is gotten from not of brimstone.
  3. Green:- it is gotten from young leaf of basil.
  4. Black:- It is gotten from grinded snail shall.

USES OF COLOURS

  1. It is used to beautify our environment
  2. It is a means of communication
  3. It is used to make our drawing look real
  4. It is used for identification
  5. It adds value to our drawing
