Introduction

We learnt about the measurement of length, width and area of an object or shape. In this lesson, we will be exploring the measurement of liquids, and the various units used in measuring liquids.

A liquid is a fluid that cannot be compressed, it takes the shape of the container that it is put in. Examples of liquids are water, oil, kerosene, fuel, etc. Liquids are measured in millilitres(ml) centilitres(cl) and litres(l). However various containers used in carrying liquids can also serve as a means of measuring liquid. E.g. a cup of water, a bottle of juice etc

Activity

Capacity:

The capacity of a container is the amount of liquid the container can hold or take, or the amount of space taken up by the liquid in the container. When we see look at containers having liquid contents, we will see the capacity written on its body. It will either be the capacity of the container or the amount of the content

In our next class, we will be talking about Measuring Solid.  We hope you enjoyed the class.
