Introduction

We are still talking about measurement, last week we learnt about the measurement of volume of both regular and irregular objects. How the volume of regular objects are measured using formulas and the volume of irregular objects are measured by other means. This week, we will be looking at the measurement of time.

Time can be seen as the progression of events from past to present and into the future. Time is the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition occurs, exists, or continues We use A.M. to tell time running from midnight to noon and P.M. for time running from noon to midnight. We measure and define what time of the day it is using clocks.

  1. 60 second makes 1 minute
  2. 60 minutes makes 1 hour
  3. 24 hours makes 1 day
  4. 7 days makes 1 week
  5. 4 weeks makes 1 month
  6. 12 months makes 1 year
  7. 52 weeks makes 1 year
  8. 365 days makes 1 year
  9. 366 days makes 1 leap year.

In the olden days’ time was measured with devices like SUNDIAL, WATER CLOCK and HOURGLASS. Some tell time using the position of the sun.
