What is Reward? Reward is something given in return for good or evil done. Reward could be favorable or unfavorable. You can get reward for being good or you get punished for being bad. God rewards one’s good deed with eternal life and bad deed is usually rewarded with eternal damnation.
What is punishment? Punishment is the infliction of pain on someone for a misdeed. It is the act of suffering for an offence committed. It means being dealt with for a negative act done.
Hence, the rewards of the Holy Spirit are numerous when we obey and do His will. Whatever we do on earth will be accounted for us in heaven and we will get our due reward. For instance or example, a student who is faithful to his/her studies will be rewarded with success. Hence, when we are faithful to God, He will perfect all that concerns us. He will load you with great rewards.
Moral lessons
- As children of God, we must engage in good things so we can get good rewards.
- The reward of obedience to the Holy Spirit is eternal life
- The punishment given for disobedience to the Holy Spirit is eternal damnation.
