Welcome to class.
Energy can neither be created nor destroys. But can takes different forms according to the law of conservation of energy.
What are the forms of energy?
There are several forms energy can take. However, we will be discussing five major forms of energy in today’s class.
- Electrical energy: This is a form of energy production through the movement of electrons. Example is the electric bulb, fan, boiling ring etc
- Chemical energy: This is the energy present between bonds of an atom.
- Mechanical energy: This form of energy is the cause for physical movement of any objects or a body. It can either be stationary (Potential energy) or in motion (Kinetic energy).
- Heat energy: Heat is another form of energy transferred between two bodies or an objects at different temperature when brought close to each other. It can also be converted into mechanical energy.
- Magnetic energy: This is a form of energy generated through the magnetic field or poles known as the North or South poles in a magnet. When you place two magnets besides each other, you will realize that some part attract while other part repel.
EVALUATION
- Explain the following forms of energy (i) Mechanical energy (ii) Heat energy (iii) Electrical energy (iv) Chemical energy
We have come to the end of the class. See you in the next class.
