2. Folklore: Traditional stories, legends, and myths that reflect the culture and beliefs of a society.

3. Classical Literature: Ancient Greek and Roman works, such as plays and poems.

4. Modern Literature: Contemporary works, including novels, poems, and plays.

5. African Oral Tradition: Stories, poems, and songs from African cultures.

 

Examples

Let’s consider two examples:

1. Anansi the Spider (African Oral Tradition): A folk tale from West African culture, passed down through oral tradition, teaching moral lessons.

2. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare (Classical Literature): A tragic play from classical literature, exploring themes of love, fate, and conflict.

 

Evaluation

Discuss the importance of preserving cultural heritage through literature.

Write a short story or poem inspired by a classical work

Weekend Assignments 

Research and present on a literary work from an oral tradition.
