Global warming na the slow increase in the average temperature of the Earth. In simple terms, the world dey heat up like pot of jollof rice for fire. This no be natural heating o; na human beings cause am mostly—through things wey we dey do every day like burning fuel, cutting trees, and using certain chemicals.

Have you noticed say harmattan no dey come like before? Or sometimes rain go just fall anyhow when e no suppose? Na global warming dey cause that kind wahala.

Wetin Dey Cause Global Warming? – Greenhouse Gases
Imagine say Earth wear one big blanket wey trap heat. That blanket na what we call greenhouse gases. Dem allow sunlight enter but no let all the heat escape back to space, so the Earth dey warm up.

Major Greenhouse Gases:

1. Carbon dioxide (CO₂): From cars, factories, generators, and burning firewood.
2. Methane (CH₄): From cow belching, rice farms, and waste dumpsites.
3. Nitrous oxide (N₂O): From fertilisers and waste.
4. Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs): From old fridges, sprays and ACs (but banned in many places now).

How These Gases Enter the Air:

• When we burn fuel (petrol, diesel, kerosene) for transport or cooking
• When farmers use too much chemical fertiliser
• When we cut trees and no plant new ones (deforestation)
• When waste dey pile up without proper disposal

Effects of Global Warming We Don Already Dey See:

• Hotter weather: Like when you feel say sun dey vex.
