Welcome to class!
In today’s class, we will be talking about salvation. Enjoy the class!
Salvation Matt. 1:21
After the creation of man, man sinned against his creator (God) and he was banished out of the garden. Sending man out of the garden was not the only thing he lost, he also lost his connection with God and his true identity as the head of all things. Although God punished man for his sinful act he also made a provision for his restoration. This is what can be referred to as salvation. salvation simply means, to save.
The angel announced that,
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21. This is the mission of Jesus Christ on earth. He has come to deliver man from the power of Sin. Prior to Jesus’ birth, man had been bound to sin and the devil. Jesus’ birth is what proclaims salvation for mankind.
Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans stresses this fact that For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23.
Jesus was very conscious of his mission on earth; he knew what he had come for, (salvation of mankind). It was the love of God that made him send Jesus to come as an exchange for our sins. Jesus told Nicodemus,
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Jesus Christ is the free gift of God sent to mankind to connect back to his creator. Sin brings death but salvation introduces life.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
Anyone who does not receive the lordship of Jesus he sentenced to death already. it is very important for everyone to accept Jesus as their Lord and personal saviour. I don’t know to wait until the day of trouble before you recognise the need for a Saviour. salvation is not age sensitive; anyone who is willing can accept Jesus and he will dwell in his or her heart.
Steps to salvation
Admit that you are a sinner and need a Saviour: acknowledging that you are a sinner could be a daunting challenge for anyone. However, scripture says, “there is none righteous, no, not one; – Romans 3:10.
Believe in the Lord Jesus
The time we live in are perilous times or end time. We are moving very close to the end of life on earth. The Bible says;
The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel. – Mark 1:15
Therefore it is very important that you do not procrastinate in your choice.
Confess Jesus as your lord and saviour
Having acknowledged that you are a sinner and needs a Savior, believing in the Lord Jesus to save your son is not enough you need to confess him as your Saviour and invite him to do the work of a Saviour by purging you of your sin and delivering you from the power of sin and death.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9
Scriptures promised that, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. – Romans 10:9-10.
