Basic Garment Construction Terms
- Seam: The line formed by stitching two pieces of fabric together.

- Hem: The finished edge of a garment, typically folded and stitched.
- Dart: A triangular fold stitched to shape a garment.
- Pleat: A folded section of fabric used to add fullness or shape.
- Gathers: Small folds or ruffles created by drawing fabric together with a thread.
- Tucks: Stitched folds that add texture and shape to a garment.
