Early Life and Education
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was born on 15th September 1977 in Enugu State, Nigeria. She grew up in Nsukka, Enugu State, where her father was a professor, and her mother was a university registrar. As a child, she loved reading books and writing stories.

She first studied Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, but later travelled to the United States to study Communication and Political Science at Drexel University and Eastern Connecticut State University. She also got a master’s degree in Creative Writing from Johns Hopkins University and another in African Studies from Yale University.
