Ụdị Ụka (Types of Verbs in Igbo)  

N’izu a, anyị ga-amụta ụdị ụka dị iche iche n’asụsụ Igbo, nke bụ isi ihe dị mkpa n’ụlọ okwu ọ bụla. Anyị ga-ekewa ha n’ụkaomume (action verbs) na ụkanchị (stative verbs).

 

Ụkaomume (Action Verbs)  

Ụkaomume bụ ụka na-egosi ihe mmadụ ma ọ bụ ihe na-eme. Ha bụ ụka na-egosi arụ (action). Ụfọdụ ọmụmaatụ bụ:

– Gbaa – “Ụmụaka gbara bọọlụ.” (The children played football.)

– Sụpụ – “O sụpụ igwe.” (He/she swept the floor.)

  

Ụkanchị (Stative Verbs)  

Ụkanchị bụ ụka na-egosi ọnọdụ ma ọ bụ ọnọdụ onye ma ọ bụ ihe nọ na ya. Ha anaghị egosi arụ ma na-egosi ọnọdụ ma ọ bụ ọchịchọ. Ụfọdụ ọmụmaatụ bụ:

– Dị – “Akwụkwọ dị n’azụ ụlọ.” (The book is behind the house.)

– Dị ike – “Ọ dị ike.” (He/she is strong.)

 

Ịmụmụ ụka abụọ a ga-enyere gị aka n’ịkọwa ihe dị iche iche, dị ka:

– Ụka nke na-egosi ihe mmadụ na-eme (ụkaomume) na

– Ụka nke na-egosi ọnọdụ onye ma ọ bụ ihe nọ na ya (ụkanchị).

 

Otu ị ga-esi weta ọmụmụ a n’ọrụ:

– Were ụfọdụ ụkaomume na ụkanchị, mee mkpụrụokwu na ha.

  – Ọrụ 1: Kpọọ ụkaomume 5 ma dee ha n’akụkọ okwu.

  – Ọrụ 2: Kpọọ ụkanchị 5 ma dee ha n’akụkọ okwu.
