What is air?
Air is a mixture of gases most especially oxygen which is required for breathing. It is a colourless, odourless and tasteless mixture of gases.
PROPERTIES OF AIR
- Air has weight
- It occupies space
- It is present everywhere
- Air is compressible
- Air can expand
- It support burning
- Air moves, i.e. wind
AIR PRESSURE (USES)
- Air pressure helps aeroplane to fly easily
- It helps birds when flying
- It helps in the propulsion of rocket
- It help human when using parachute to land safely from air
- Wind mill used the wind by air pressure to generate electricity.
NOTE: Pressure is the force applied to a unit area of surface.
Pressure is measured in pascals or atmosphere.
GENERAL EVALUATION
- Identify the common characteristics of air
- Explain why things move in air.
- Demonstrate air pressure on every projects.
