Meaning of art

Art, in its simplest definition, is the ability to do or make things. It is an expression, study and creation of things. It can also be expertise or skill acquired. Art and culture go hand in hand. The culture and way of life of a set of people determine what is done in terms of artworks, illustration was done or motives used. Art can be in the form of painting, sculpture, music, literature and dance.

Societal appreciation of sexuality through arts

As discussed earlier, culture and arts go hand in hand, the belief of a set of people helps them to appreciate artworks differently. Artwork varies, and the kind of expression portrayed is as a result of things seen or the environment one lives in before now.

The artwork was focused mainly on flower paintings, animal paintings neglecting the human forms of artwork. As time went by, human forms were being studied thereby paving the way for human form paintings. At present, human form paintings are highly appreciated, although, it has a negative effect of abuse. Female artworks are given more attention and focus.

Appreciation of arts in religion

Artworks have made it easy to propagate and preach the gospel especially for people that are not learned. Artworks are used to describe various religious signs, e.g. moon, cross, etc. and even some Bible or Quran scholars. Besides, historic events that have happened are brought into full remembrance through artwork.

Reasons why religion disapproves of sexually focused arts

What people see last longer than what they hear, some artworks showing nudity especially of females may pollute the minds of the children or teenagers growing. It may make an individual change his/her belief especially after coming across a sexually based artwork.
