It is when all countries of the world coming or agreeing to accomplish a common goal which relates to global issues affecting them. Global international cooperation can also mean the interaction of persons or groups of people (Ambassadors) representing various nations in pursuit of common interest. Global cooperation enhances cooperation in various areas and matters.

Strategies for global/ international cooperation

The various strategies have been considered for global/international cooperation, they include;

  • Research and innovation
  • Food and energy security
  • Climate change
  • Health system.
  1. Research and innovation:  With much efforts and finances being put into research, it will pave way for new inventions, making life easier and the world a better place.
  2. Food and energy security: FOOD AND ENERGY SECURITY: This is a basic societal challenge tackling food problems across nations, which involve improving agriculture and its practices.
  3. Climate change: This is affecting all nations of the world, and there have been different joint meetings of leaders of nations to avert disasters that might arise from climate change.
  4. Health system: Improved healthy living with the help of WHO and other organizations overseeing healthy living as well as a breakthrough in curing diseases has increased cooperation among nations.

Reasons for global international cooperation

  1. It gives an avenue for nations to come together and solve a common problem confronting them.
  2. It allows developed nations to render assistance in developing ones in terms of finances.
  3. International cooperation gives opportunities for nations to come together and fight major diseases that seem not to have cure.
  4. It brings about good trade relations among nations as no nation has it all.
  5. Global cooperation enhances economic sector of a nation as there is a free flow of transaction and trade activities.

Positive and negative consequences of global international cooperation

  1. There exist peace and harmony in the global village.
  2. Globalization and innovation are encouraged.
  3. Business opportunities arise, boosting the economy of the nations.
  4. The environment is protected because there is a common law governing people.
  5. Improved health life of citizens of nations as there re breakthroughs in health sectors.

Negative consequences

  1. There is a great imbalance among countries of the world, some nations keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer.
  2. Environmental degradation keeps occurring as a result of human activities leading to human migration.
  3. Insecurity issues and terrorist activities are on the increase as a result of globalization.
  4. Interference into the political and economic activities of other nations by the developed ones keeps causing problems for the developing nations.
