Welcome to class.
Improvisation of art material is an act of creating or making alternative material to serve the same purpose of the original materials. Improvisation of material is necessary because some of the art material or the original material are expensive and may not be available.
BASIC ART MATERIAL AND THEIR ALTERNATIVE.
- Paper: To improvise paper, one can use old calendar or newspaper.
- Pencil: To improvise pencil, charcoal can be used in place of pencil for drawing.
- Brush: To improvise brush, chew stick or cotton wool can be used as brush for painting.
- Gum: to improvise gum, the mixture of petrol and white foam can be used in place of gum.
CHARACTERISTICS OF IMPROVISED ART MATERIAL
- They are natural in nature.
- They are not well shaped and finished.
- They lose potency easily.
- They can be easily contaminated.
Evaluation: Write the characteristics of improvised material.
