Welcome to class.
A loom is a manual machine used for making clothes. It is also a device used to weave clothes and the process of any loom is to held the warp threads under tension to facilitate the under weaving.
PARTS OF A LOOM AND THEIR FUNCTION.
- Carrier: Is the part of the loom that carries the fibre.
- Bracket: it is made of two halves of bamboo and it gives support to the loom and makes it stand firm.
- Shifter: it is made out of nylon thread and its function is to provide the fibres in a vertical and horizontal form making it ready for weaving.
- Fibre: it is made of yellowish raffia palm. It is a material used in weaving bags.
- Master weaver: it is a piece of bamboo-shaped in the form of a knife used in weaving.
