Performing Basic Skills in Swimming
- Floating:
One of the first skills is floating. We lie on our backs and let the water carry us. It’s like being a floating leaf in a gentle stream!
- Kicking:
Kicking helps us move in the water. We use our legs to kick gently, like a fish in the sea.
- Arm Strokes:
Our arms are like oars. We move them in the water to help us swim forward. Freestyle and doggy paddle are two fun strokes to practice!
- Breathing:
We learn how to breathe while swimming. We take a deep breath and blow bubbles underwater. It’s like being a friendly fish!
- Treading Water:
Treading water is like standing in one place in the water. We move our arms and legs to stay afloat. It’s like a water dance!
- Getting Comfortable:
It’s important to feel comfortable in the water. We should splash, play, and have fun while we learn.
Let’s practice floating on our backs and kicking in the water. Remember to use your arms too, like a swimming superhero!
Can you swim from one end of the pool to the other using your new skills? With practice, you’ll be a great swimmer!
