Welcome to class!
In today’s class, we’re going to explore the step-by-step process of purifying water. Let’s dive into the journey of turning water from dirty to clean and safe!
Health and Hygiene – Process of purifying water
- Collecting Water:
We start by collecting water from a source like a river or well. This water might have tiny things in it that we can’t see.
- Settling:
We let the collected water sit quietly in a tank or container. This gives time for the big stuff to sink to the bottom.
- Filtering:
After settling, we pass the water through a special filter. The filter catches even smaller impurities that make the water look cloudy.
- Boiling:
We heat the filtered water until it boils. Boiling helps to kill any germs and bacteria that might be hiding in the water.
- Cooling:
Once the water has boiled, we let it cool down. This is important because boiling water can be very hot.
- Storing:
Finally, we store the clean water in a clean container. Now, we have water that’s safe to drink!
