Personal Hygiene

Welcome to class.

Personal hygiene also includes toking our bath and brushing our teeth, washing and combing our hair and we cutting our finger nails washing our clothes, laying our beds, sweeping and cleaning our surroundings regularly. Personal hygiene, therefore, refers to those things which we do to keep ourselves and our surroundings clean in order to prevent diseases.

Factors that Promote Personal Hygiene

There are several things that help us get used to taking care of our bodies and surroundings. They include the following:

  • Obedience to our parents and teachers: Our parents and teachers want us to be clean and neat at all times.
  • Self-discipline: We must train ourselves to practice the rules of hygiene. If we fall sick, we must wait for our parents or teachers to tell us what to do.
  • Daily practices: We must be clean everyda We should not wait for the government to declare a special day for sanitation. We must keep high standards of hygiene everyday, so we can remain healthy.
  • Taking care of ourselves: We must look after ourselves. For example, we must make sure our uniforms are clean, and ensure that our clothes, bed-sheets and shoes are clean We must take care of our bodies too. We must not smell of stale sweat at all.
