SUBTOPIC: LENGTH
Length can be defined as the distance between two points. Length measures how long or short a distance or an object is.
Measuring Length with Natural Unit
In the olden days, length is measured using body parts. This can be called natural units. A unit of measurement is a chosen and acceptable standard for measuring a thing.
Natural units are:
Hand Span: this is the distance between the tip of the thumb and the little finger.
Foot Span: the measurement taken by the foot by counting how many times the object covers your foot.
Arm Span:
Cubit: This is the length from the elbow to the tip of the finger.
Stride:

- Using any of the natural units mentioned above, measure the following
- one of the walls of your bedroom or classroom
- Your reading or dinning table
- Your notebook
