Hello children, welcome back to class
SUBTOPIC: ORDERING OF MEASUREMENT
In the last lesson we learnt about measuring length with natural units which are mostly our body parts.
The challenge with using natural unit is that we are bound to get different measurements for the same objects. The reason being that our body sizes are different so using hand span or feet will give different measurements.
Hence there is need to have a uniform means of measurement.
To get uniform measurement of length, the following can be used:
- Ruler
- Measuring Tape
- Meter Rule
- String or Twine
RULER MEASURING TAPE MEASURING TAPE
METER RULE TWINE
The standard units for measuring length are
- Millimeter (mm)
- Centimeter (cm)
- Kilometer (Km)
