SUBTOPIC: ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION ON NUMBER LINE
A number line is used to represent numbers, such as fractions, whole numbers, integers, etc.
For drawing a number line; draw a line of some suitable length and mark points on it so that the line is divided into required equal parts
In the diagram above the red marks signifies solving 8 + 4 = 12. While the blue marks explains solving 6 – 4 = 2.
This means that when adding using number line you move to the right. While we move to the left if we are subtracting.
