Welcome to class.
Many common objects around us have different colours. Examples of colour are white, green, red, yellow, etc. Colour beautifies objects.
When an object doesn’t have any colour, we say it is colourless, e.g water
PRIMARY COLOURS
We have three primary colours and they are: red, yellow and blue.
The primary colours are the main colours. They are the base of all other colours, except white and black. Colours like yellow, orange and red are warm colours and colours like blue, green and purple are cool colours.
Various materials that produces colours
Plants and dyes are materials we use to colour objects. Some leaves, flowers, roots, stems and fruits contain some colours which are taken out as dyes.
We obtain dyes from plants through the processes of boiling, grinding, squeezing and using solvents.
