Comprehension Question:

What are food additives used for, and can you give examples of natural and synthetic additives?

Structural words, like “and,” “because,” and “but,” help us understand connections in a sentence. Verbs are action words. Let’s practice identifying them:

Passage: “Food adulteration is when harmful substances are added to food intentionally. This can have serious health consequences.”

Question:

Find the structural word and the verb in the sentence about food adulteration.

Answering Questions:

Let’s read a passage about food safety and answer a question based on it:

Passage: “Washing your hands before cooking is crucial for food safety. It prevents the spread of germs.”

Comprehension Question:

Why is washing hands before cooking important for food safety?

Evaluation and Questions:

What’s the difference between natural and synthetic food additives? Why do you think food safety is important?
