Welcome to class!
In today`s class, we will dive into another exciting topic: “Fluency.” This time, we’re going to take our reading skills to the next level by adding the magic of stress and intonation to our sentences. Get ready to become reading wizards!
Fluency | Reading simple sentences with appropriate stress and intonation
Imagine we’re actors on a stage, performing our sentences like pros! 🎭✨ Today, we’ll learn how to read sentences with the perfect stress and intonation.
Reading with Expression:
When you read, you’re telling a story with your voice. You can use stress and intonation to make your sentences captivating. Let’s practice:
Sentence: “The sun is shining.”
Reading: “The sun is shining.”
Sentence: “I love chocolate.”
Reading: “I love chocolate.”
Stress and Intonation Mastery:
Notice how we emphasized the important words and used intonation to make our reading interesting. You’re turning your sentences into mini performances!
Imagine you’re a news anchor delivering the day’s top stories! Read these sentences like you’re sharing important news:
“There’s a new baby panda at the zoo!”
“The rocket is about to launch into space!”
” I am the male child of my family”
I want you to picture yourself in a magical forest, reading to the animals. Say, “Once upon a time, in a land far away.” Can you feel the enchantment as stress and intonation create the scene?
Practice Makes Perfect:
Try reading these sentences, giving them your unique flair:
“The cat chased the mouse.”
“The tree swayed in the breeze.”
“She found a sparkling treasure.”
Imagine you’re a conductor leading an orchestra of words! Say, “The music is about to begin.” Can you feel the rhythm and melody of your reading?
Today, we transformed into reading maestros, reading sentences with stress and intonation. I am very sure you’re already turning reading into a captivating performance!
Evaluation and Questions:
Can you create a sentence about flying a kite? Make your reading sound as exciting as an adventure in the sky!
Over the weekend, I want you to read stories to your family using your new fluency skills. Notice how stress and intonation bring the characters and scenes to life! You will tell us what you discover next week.
We have come to the end of today’s class. I hope you enjoyed the class!
