Cultural dance is a dance method that reflects our tradition, culture, belief, history or style. Every culture has its own method of dancing. The way an Igbo man or woman dance is different from the Yoruba’s dancing steps.

TYPES OF CULTURAL DANCE

  1. BATA: Is an ethnic ceremonial dance with drums played. It is originally from the Yoruba tribe.
  2. ATILOGUE: Is a dance step with the feet usually danced by the Igbo women.
  3. KOROSO DANCE: Is a dance from the Fulani and Kano people. It is a mixture of movement of the legs
  4. SWANGI DANCE: Is a dance from the Tiv men and women. It is mostly danced in important gathering and festival.
