Welcome to class.
Weaving is a craft or action of forming fabric by interlacing threads. It is also a method of textile production in which two distinct sets of yarns or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or clothing.
STEPS USED IN WEAVING A PLAIN WOVEN BASE BASKET:
STEP 1: lay out all your stakes, double them and keep four double stakes going in one direction.
STEP 2: at a right angle, weave two double stakes, weaving one double stakes at a time until all are woven in.
STEP 3: select a long weaver and start from a corner, weave a circle around the stakes to form a circular base.
STEP 4: keep weaving each new row with the proceeding one over and under the stakes.
STEP 5: with the help of a pliers, bend the stakes up as you weave to form your desired shape.
STEP 6: with the required shape obtained, continue to weave over and under until the required height of the basket.
