Welcome to class.

Energy is the ability or capacity to do work. We need energy to do many things at home or in school to push objects, to lift object, to play with objects e.g. football etc.

The energy of a body is how much the body can do on some other body. It measures the capability of a body to do work on another.

FORMS OF ENERGY

1. Light energy: energy obtained from light
2. Sound energy: energy obtained from sound
3. Wind energy: energy obtained from wind
4. Mechanical energy (kinetic and potential energy): energy possessed moving or stationery body.
5. Nuclear energy: energy obtained from the nucleus of an atom
6. Chemical energy: energy obtained from chemical reaction, e.g battery.
7. Heat/ Thermal energy: energy obtained from heat or fire
8. Electrical energy: energy obtained from electricity
9. Solar energy: energy obtained from the sun.
