Welcome to class.
Water is contaminated when harmful substances are introduced or released into water. Bad contaminated water is water containing harmful substances, germs or dirts. It is not safe for drinking or use for other purposes. Drinking or bathing with bad water has a lot of bad effects on the body. Some of these effects are:
- Stomach ache
- Skin rashes
- Death
- Cancer
- It can cause water borne-diseases, such as Typhoid fever, cholera, dysentry, diarrhoea etc,
WAYS OF CONTAMINATING WATER
- Pouring of dust and sand in water
- Throwing od unwanted things un water
- Defecating and urinating in water
- Release of sewage in water
- Burning of fossil fuel which causes acid rain
- Poring of oil and other chemicals in water.
- Dumping of refuse in water.
