His early live
Uthmanbnaffan was born in 573. He came from the umayyah family of qurashi like bnalkihattab. Uthman was one of the few literate person in makkah when he grew up he started business in cloth which made him very rich. Uthman was a soft natured and kind hearted man, uthman was among those that migrated with other Muslim to madinah. After the death of his wife, ruqqyyah, the prophet’s daughter, the prophet marry the next daughter ummukulthum with uthman and was given the title of dhun- nuraini.e the man with two lights or the possessor of two light.
HIS APPOINTMENT OF THE THIRD CALPH
While on his side bed, umar appointed a committee of six men to select a khalifah from among them, he instructed the commit to make the nomination within three days. The member of the committee include uthman, al sad bnabiwaqas, talka, zubair and Abdul Rahman bn auf. After a long meeting of the committee, Abdul Rahman withdrew his own name uthman proposed Ali’s name and Ali proposed uthmen’s name for the post of khalifahzuhair and sad evere more in favor of uthman than Ali. After more consultation with other companions on the third night, Abdul Rahman bn Auf gave his decision in themorningofnthe forth day in favor of uthman.
Abdul Rahman bnawf was the first person to take bai’at (oath of allegiance) at the hands of uthman thereafter, the other companion present in the Mosque followed and took the bait at the hand of uthman.
