NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES
Non-communicable diseases are diseases that cannot be transmitted from one person to another. They are non-infectious health conditions and last for a long period of time. They have many causes but are never caused by germs, bacteria or other living things that can attack the body.
Causes of Non-Communicable Diseases

Physiological failure of the tissues:
- Rheumatism
- Heart attack
- Epilepsy
- Stroke
- Migraine
- Cataract
- Cancer

Chemical or atomic fallout:
- Snakebite
- Cough from smoke
- Stomach ulcer
- Allergies
- Asthma

Malnutrition or dietary imbalance:
- Marasmus
- Pellagra
- Anaemia
- Goitre
- Kwashiorkor
- Cirrhosis

Congenital or hereditary problem:
- Hare’s lip
- Crossed eyes
- Epilepsy
- Retarded brain
- Birthmark and other deformities.

Brain damage or emotional disturbances:
- Paranoia
- Anxiety
- Neurosis
- Schizophrenia
- Phobias
- Psychosis
- Hypochondria
Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases
- Regular exercises
- Avoiding unhealthy diets
- Avoiding harmful use of alcohol
- Avoid smoking
- Raising awareness about non-communicable diseases.
