In this lesson, we will be talking about respect.
Meaning of Respect
Respect is to admire someone (or a place or thing) because you think they are important and special.
People: Everyone is important, and various people do various things to make the world a better place.
Ways of Showing Respect to People
- We should greet those around us.
- When greeting older people, we should be calm and polite. The boys could bow and girls could curtsy.
- We should help the elderly people by running errands for them.
- When elderly people are talking to each other, we should not interrupt them. We should discuss with them if and when they invite us to do so.
- Salutation
- Kneeling down
- Bowing
- Prostrating
- Standing up for an elder to sit
- Not talking back to an elder despite being offended
- Receiving gifts or items with both hands
