Many have heard about the use, or importance of Photoshop for editing images and transforming ordinary pictures into outstanding materials. However, opening this program without any prior knowledge, it can be overwhelming and hard to use, so let’s explore some basics in Adobe Photoshop.
Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Incorporation for Windows – computers generally. It is an image creation, graphic design and photo editing software developed by Adobe. The software provides many image editing features for pixel-based images, raster graphics and vector graphics.
Raster images are compiled using pixels, or tiny dots, containing unique color and tonal information that come together to create the image.
Photoshop can edit and compose raster images in multiple layers.
Photoshop is widely used for image editing, retouching, creating image compositions, website mockups, and adding effects. Digital or scanned images can be edited for use online or in-print. Website layouts can be created within Photoshop; their designs can be finalized before developers move on to the coding stage.
It consists of the following:
Menu Bar: includes saving options (under File) and interface options (under Window).
Options Bar: changes depending on what tool is selected.
Toolbar: used to interact with and add to the document.
Panels: provides a way to access important tools and settings quickly.
