Consequences of Adam and Eve disobedience

God told Adam that because he listened to the voice of his wife and had eaten from the tree, which he (God) commanded them not to eat curse in the ground for your sake you shall eat of it all the days of your life both thorns and thistle it shall bring forth for you, you shall eat the herbs of the field in the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you turn to the ground for out of it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust, you return and in hardship will you give birth. God sent Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden because of their sin, death upon all humans.

Jonah’s disobedience

Jonah was called by God to go to the city of Nineveh to preach to them because of their wickedness had come to him. Jonah wanted to run away from the mission and boarded a ship from Joppa to Tarshish. The Lord causes a great wind upon the sea which threaten to break up the ship, the crew and passengers pray to their gods and threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the load in the ship. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest of the ship, had lain down and was fast asleep so the captain came to him, and said to him “what do you mean, sleeper? Arise call on your God; maybe your God will consider us so we will not perish “ and they said to one another, come let us cast a lot that we may know who cause this trouble that has come upon us.

So they cast a lot and a lot fell on Jonah then they said to him please tell us for the whole cause of this trouble upon us? What is your occupation, where do you come from? What is your country? And of what people are you?. And he said to them I’m a Hebrew and I fear the Lord the God of heaven who made the sea and the dry land then the men were very afraid and said to him why have you done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord because he had told them, then they said to him what shall we do to you so the sea may be calm for us? For the sea was growing more and more tempestuous and he said to them pick me and throw me into the sea then the sea will become calm for you for I know that this great tempest is because of me.

The men try to bring the ship to land but they could not for the sea continue to grow more tempestuous against them. They cried out to the Lord and said we pray o lord do not let us perish for this man’s life and not charge us with innocent blood for you o lord have done as it pleased u. so they picked up Jonah and threw him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging. God ordered a great fish to swallow him, Jonah was in the belly for three days and three nights, while in the belly of the fish Jonah prayed and ask for forgiveness from God and God ordered the fish to go and vomit him on dry land near Nineveh. After his deliverance, God ordered Jonah to go and proclaim his message this he did and the people of Nineveh believed and repented and God forgive them.
