Democracy, according to Abraham Lincoln, is the government of the people by the people and for the people.

Democracy is a form of government where the people have and exercise the supreme power directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving free and fair elections held at specific dates by the electoral body in the country.

All over the world, democracy is the most popular and acceptable means of electing representatives. Any candidate elected through democratic means is generally accepted. Examples of democratic countries are Nigeria, Ghana, Great Britain, United States of America, Italy, and Canada and so on.
