• What is sexuality?

Sexuality is the way people experience and express themselves sexually. It is about our sexual feelings, thoughts, attraction, and behaviours towards other people.

 

• Marriage is the proper place to express ones sexuality. ( Hebrew 13: 4)

Sexuality is part of us and God wants us to express our sexuality in a proper way. The only place God expects us to express our sexuality is marriage. Marriage is the union between a man and woman to become husband and wife. In marriage, God commands the husband and wife to express their sexuality in marriage. Anywhere outside marriage is not acceptable by God and is regarded as a sin.

 

• Reasons for reserving sex for marriage song of Solomon 3:5

There are several reasons why sex should be reserved for marriage and they include:

1. It is commandment from God
2. It is pleasing unto God
3. To avoid unwanted pregnancy
4. To partake in the God’s blessing
5. Sex is a covenant. So, having sex before marriage means one have broken the covenant and have incurred God’s wrath upon one’s life.

• Benefits of expressing one’s sexuality in marriage. (Songs of Solomon 3:5, 8:4-7, Hebrew 13:4).

Benefits of expressing one’s sexuality in marriage

1. It secures God’s blessing upon one’s marriage
2. It prevents God’s unwanted pregnancy
