Welcome to class.
Raffia frond is a palm tree of east Africa howling large leaves that yield a useful fiber. The leaf fibers of this plant are used for making mats, baskets, hats and other products.
STEPS IN MAKING RAFFIA FROND WORK
Step 1: Collect Raffia or palm frond and cut to dimension,
Step 2: Peel the trunk of the palm frond get the inner soft part then split into two,
Step 3: Split the wood into smaller parts to get the dimension of the work,
Step 4: Begin your weaving, using the fiber from the raffia,
Step 5: Continue adding sheets of raffia until you arrive at your required length,
Step 6: Use the raffia to make a mat.
