Hello! Welcome back to class. You will be learning about our relationship with God.

Relationship with God
The relationship between God and Mankind is totally unique. God is a supreme being. His supremacy or absolute or unlimited power over all things including man, who to a reasonable extent owes his existence, sustenance and everything (total dependence) to the absolute authority and supremacy of God. This supremacy of God is manifested in His activities as:
Gen. 1:2, Amos 9:5-7, Isaiah 45:9-12
- God as creator of the Heavens
- God as controller of the Heavens
- God as creator the universe
- God as controller of the universe
God is sovereign. This means that God is the ruler of mankind. By definition, a sovereign makes, interprets, and enforces laws. God is King over all Creation. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. As King and Lord, honor, worship, adoration, respect and obedience are His rightful due. They are not simply good ideas or things we should do. He has the right to expect and insist on them. God is not the equal of man. God deliberately and intentionally made man inferior to Himself, limited in power and knowledge. Hence, it is only right for the Supreme Being to have authority to lay down the law for inferior beings who are His subjects.
As human beings we are to reverence and fear God. By reverence, we are to honour him always in all we do. Also, God is to be respected and honoured by all.
Relationship with Man
As Christians we are expect to relate with one another in the following ways. These are:
- Love one another
- Welcome one another
- Bear one another burdens
- Be at peace with one another
- Serve one another
- Bear with one another
- Be kind to one another
- Forgive one another
- Be humble before one another
- Teach one another
- Pray for one another
- Confess our sins to one another
- Do good to one another
- Encourage one another
