Things God Created

Hello, welcome to class today. Today, we will be talking about the things God created.

The Creation Story

The Bible gives the account of the creation of the world in the Book of Genesis. 1 and 2. Before creation, there was nothing. The Earth was formless and void.

God spoke and things came into being.  He creates the world in six days and rested on the seventh day.

First day:  God created the light (Gen. 1:1-5)

Second day:  He created the Firmament known as the Heavens, that is the skies and the clouds

Third day:  He created the Seas, Land and Vegetation.

Fourth day:  He created the Heavenly bodies. That is Sun Moon, Stars and other Planets.

Fifth day:  He created the Sea animals and Birds

Sixth day: He created Land animals and man

Seventh day: God rested.

The Account of the Creation of Adam and Eve

God formed man’s body from the dust of the ground, but only after God had breathed the breath of life into him did man becomes a living being.  Adam (means red or ground) was named after the red earth from which he was made.

God placed man in the Garden of Eden and gave him work to do. He is to subdue God’s creation and have dominion over it. God gave him an instruction to name all the things He had created. He noticed that the man was alone and caused a deep sleep to fall upon him. He took one rib from the man and formed the woman and brought her to Adam and he named her Eve (i.e. taking out of man).  Man is the crown of God’s creation, in the image and according to His likeness.  This means that man was placed on earth as God’s representative and that he resembles God in certain ways, such as intellect, emotions, morals and the ability to communicate with others.
