Welcome to class, I hope you enjoyed the last class. Today we will be talking about road accidents. Follow me closely and you will understand what we are about to talk about.

An accident is an unplanned for and the unforeseen incident which usually results in injury to those involved and sometimes damage to property. It is something bad that happens suddenly when one does not expect it and causes harm or damage. An accident can occur anywhere and at any time. Accidents affect human beings.

Accidents are caused by being careless. It can hurt or injure us for a long time. Different accidents can lead to scrapes and scratches, while other accidents can result in broken bones.

Road accidents happen when one road vehicle hits another vehicle or road user, animal or object. Road accidents happen suddenly on the road. They are caused by dangerous driving, wrong overtaking, disobeying traffic rules and regulations, over speeding and bad condition of vehicles. It is very important to be watchful for vehicles when we cross the road. Being careless on the road can lead to bad accidents.

Ways Accidents Occur on the Road

• Two or more cars colliding at a turning or at an intersection.
• A car colliding with a motorbike.
• Two or more bikes running into each other.
• A car hitting a pedestrian walking on the street or on the sidewalk.
• A motorbike running into a pedestrian trying to cross the street.
