Israel in Bondage in Egypt
Long ago, the people of Israel lived in Egypt. But they were not free; they were slaves. This means they had to work very hard and were not treated kindly.
Joseph’s Legacy
Before they were slaves, a man named Joseph helped Egypt save a lot of food. When there was no food in other places, Egypt had plenty because of Joseph’s smart planning. But after Joseph died, the new king of Egypt forgot all the good things Joseph did.
The Israelites Become Slaves
The new king saw that there were many Israelites, and he was afraid they might become too powerful. So, he made them slaves and gave them very hard work to do. They had to make bricks and build cities for the king. The Israelites were very unhappy because they had to work so hard and were not free.
God Hears Their Cries
The Israelites cried out to God to save them from their hard life. God heard their cries and remembered His promise to take care of them. He had a plan to help them.
Conclusion
Even though the Israelites were in a tough situation, they never stopped hoping for freedom. And God was getting ready to help them in an amazing way!
