The Egyptians Perished in the Red Sea
In our last story, we learned how the Israelites escaped from Egypt and crossed the Red Sea. Today, we’ll find out what happened to the Egyptians who were chasing them.
The Chase
The Pharaoh of Egypt changed his mind after letting the Israelites go. He sent his army with many chariots to bring them back. The Egyptians quickly caught up and the Israelites were trapped between the army and the sea.
The Miracle at the Sea
Moses, the leader of the Israelites, trusted God to save them. He raised his staff, and God parted the Red Sea, allowing the Israelites to cross on dry land. When the Egyptians tried to follow, they were in for a surprise.
The Sea Closes
After the Israelites reached the other side safely, God told Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea again. When he did, the waters came crashing back down. The Egyptian army, with their chariots and horses, was caught in the sea.
The End of the Pursuit
The mighty waters covered the entire Egyptian army, and not one of them survived. The threat to the Israelites was gone. They were truly free from the Egyptians.
A Time to Remember
This event was so important that every year, the Israelites would remember how God saved them from the Egyptians. It was a time to be thankful for their freedom and new life.
Conclusion
The story of how the Egyptians perished in the Red Sea teaches us that sometimes, things don’t go as planned for those who do wrong. It also shows us that freedom is very precious and worth remembering.
