The Israelites Cross the Red Sea
Today, we’re going to learn about a very exciting story from a long time ago. It’s about how the Israelites crossed a big sea called the Red Sea to escape from being slaves in Egypt.
A Big Problem
After leaving Egypt, the Israelites were being chased by the Egyptian army. They reached the Red Sea and couldn’t go any further. They were scared because the army was getting closer.
Moses Trusts God
Moses, the leader of the Israelites, wasn’t sure what to do, but he trusted God to help them. He told the people not to be afraid because God would save them.
A Path Through the Sea
God told Moses to raise his staff over the sea. When he did this, a strong wind blew all night, and the sea split into two! There was now a dry path in the middle of the sea for the Israelites to walk through.
A Safe Crossing
The Israelites walked on the dry path between the walls of water. They were amazed and thankful. They reached the other side safely, but the Egyptian army was still following them.
The Sea Closes
Once all the Israelites were safe, Moses raised his staff again, and the sea went back to normal. The water covered the path and the Egyptian army, and they couldn’t chase the Israelites anymore.
A New Beginning
The Israelites were free and thanked God for the miracle. They sang and danced because they were happy to be safe and starting a new life.
Conclusion
The story of the Israelites crossing the Red Sea teaches us about trust and courage. Even when things seem impossible, there can be a way if we have faith and work together.
