An accident is an unplanned for and unforeseen incident which usually result in injury to those involved and sometimes damage to property. It is something bad which happens suddenly when one does not expect it and causes harm or damage. An accident can occur anywhere and at any time. Accidents affect human beings.
Accidents are caused by being careless. It can hurt or injure us for a long time. Different accident can lead to scrapes and scratches, while other accidents can result in broken bones.
Home accidents are unplanned and unintentional acts which may lead to harm or injury within the home.
Causes of Home Accidents
- Water on the floor- slipping can occur.
- Banana peel on the floor – when you step on them, they are slippery.
- Carelessly placed drugs- children may drink or swallow such a drug, thinking they are sweet.
- Open fire- open fire unattended to can be dangerous and cause fire outbreak.
- Exposed electric appliances- exposed life wire can cause electric shock when touched. Electric appliances must be switched off when not in use because they can cause sudden fire outbreak.
