Suffocation: This occur when there are too many people in the room that has little or no ventilation. It also happens when any object blocks the passage of the air, we breathe e.g. nylon, pillows, etc.
Prevention: Rooms should have windows on opposite walls for cross ventilation or air.
Window nets should be used so that they can be opened when sleeping.
Few people should sleep in a room.
Do not allow children to cover their heads and face with nylon or pillows when playing.
Poisoning: This happen when people drink chemicals by mistake instead of water. Little children can be poisoned if they mistake tablets for sweets or drink too much of a drug.
Prevention: Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.
Keep clear colourless chemicals far away from where drinking water is.
Electric shock: This happens when a person touches exposed live wire or faulty electrical appliances. It can also occur when little children put metal objects in sockets.
Prevention: Cover broken cables that exposes live wire.
Repair faulty electric appliances.
Seal off sockets not used.
Dislocation: This occurs when the bones separate at a joint due to a fall. It can also happen when a person steps on hard loose objects or miss steps as in sprain.
Prevention: Watch your steps to prevent a fall.
Clear always all hard loose objects from human path.
