In today’s Religious and National Values class, we will be learning about Relationship of Some Members of the Family
Relationship of Some Members of the Family
We learned previously that a family is a group of two or more persons related by birth, marriage, or adoption who live together.
Some members of the family include:
- Father
- Mother
- Children
- Uncles
- Aunts
- Relations
So, when we talk about the relationship between members of a family, we mean identifying each person in a family, and how they are identified.
Now, imagine your own family and try to identify who each person is.
In a family, we have the following people identified as members of the family
- Father- is the male parent of the family.
- Mother-is the female parent of the family.
- Children- are the dependent ages of the family.
- Uncles- is the brother of one’s father or mother.
- Aunty- is the sister of one’s father or mother.
- Cousins are the children of one’s uncle or aunt.
- Nephew- is the son of one’s brother, sister, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law.
- Niece- is the daughter of one’s brother, sister, brother in-law, and sister-in-law.
- Grandparents-is the parents of one’s father or mother.
- In laws- is the relationship by marriage.
The relationship of members of the family is important because they,
- They love one another
- They have great concern and interest for one another
- They protect and defend one another
- They protect the family name
- They have a sense of belonging.
