Types of Governance
In our first class on Governance, we talked about some things that people often expect and talk about. Let’s take a look again.
Sometimes we hear people say, the governance system in Africa is bad. Other times people say, “we want good governance.”
What do they mean by these? Let’s learn!
Governance is the system by which an organization is controlled and operates, and the way by which it and its people are held to account.
Governance is also a type of system whereby a group of people make decisions that affect the state or organizations. This means it takes more than one person for it to be considered governance.
Good governance is the process that ensures accountability, transparency, responsiveness, rule of law, stability, empowerment and home and abroad participation. Now, let’s take a look at types of Governance.
