Types of Neighborhood

A neighborhood is the area of a town that surrounds someone’s home, or the people who live in this area.

This means a neighborhood can be defined as the area that surrounds our homes, as well as the people who live in our environment or area.

The interesting thing about learning about Types of neighborhoods is that we all belong to a neighborhood and from today’s lesson, we can identify our type of Neighborhood.

Types of Neighborhood

  • Urban

An urban neighborhood is located in the center of a city. One of the main reasons people enjoy living in urban neighborhoods is location. With shorter routes, access to better public transportation, and closeness to events and restaurants, Urban falls is considered in  terms of convenience.

An urban area is also the region surrounding a city. Most people who live in urban areas have non-agricultural jobs.

  • Suburban

A suburban area is a group of properties, primarily for living, that are not very populated with people, yet located very near an urban area..

It is also referred to as “suburbs,” these areas are often located just outside of larger crowded areas but can span even further.

Suburban neighborhoods tend to have larger homes and more families than urban neighborhoods.

A suburban community is generally made up of many people living in single family homes, and those homes are built close together.

  • Rural

In a rural area, there are fewer people, and their homes and businesses are located far away from one another.

Agriculture is the primary industry in most rural areas. Most people live or work on farms or ranches. Places such as villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.

Rural communities are also considered as areas that are non-urban, meaning they have fewer than 50,000 and 2,500 people in a designated area.

  • Subdivisions

Subdivisions typically offer residents amenities and what is offered depends on region, developer and the price of the homes.

Larger subdivisions may have a park or three for residents, a swimming pool, and bicycle or pedestrian trails.

The act of separating something into parts is also called subdivision. In places like America, when someone mentions a subdivision, it may mean a suburban neighborhood.

When planned communities are designed, developers subdivide the plots of land to make it easier to sell them as subdivisions.

In summary, whether it’s urban, rural, suburban, or subdivisions, always remember that a neighborhood is the area of a town that surrounds someone’s home, or the people who live in this area.
