Jesus encouraged His disciples to pray in faith. Matt 21:22

  1. Jesus taught His disciples the great prayer (i.e. The Lord’s prayer.) Matt 6:1-13

Jesus encouraged His disciples to pray in faith. To have faith is to have a strong belief that whatever you want, you will get it. Whatever you want from God, and you ask Him, He will give it to you.

Jesus encouraged His disciples to have strong belief anytime they are praying to God. They should believe that whatever they asked God to give them, He will give them.

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

 

Jesus taught His disciples the great prayer (i.e. The Lord’s prayer.) Matt 6:1-13

One day, Jesus was praying. When he had finished, the disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray.

Then Jesus taught them the great prayer.

 

The Lord’s prayer

“Our father in heaven,

hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation

 

Jesus said a prayer of thanksgiving. Lk 22:22

Jesus said a prayer of thanksgiving when God helped the seventy disciples to preach the gospel, heal the sick and raise the dead.

I thank thee Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes.”

 

 

Jesus always pray before meals. Mk 8:6

Jesus prayed to God before eating and after eating. He gave thanks to God for giving them food to eat.

One day after Jesus had preached to a great multitude, they became hungry. A little boy brought five loaves of bread and two fishes. Jesus took the food and prayed to God before eating, God made the food plenty and they still had left over.

 

Moral lessons

  1. God wants us to pray before and after every meal.
  2. God wants us to pray to Him with faith through Jesus Christ.
  3. God wants us to thank Him in our prayers to him.
